Around 2005, Medellín, begun to attract international eyes for its urban interventions on public space, public equipement and particularly, with regard to ‘slum upgrading (the city’s Metrocable system is one of the golden boys).
Well, now 7 or 8 years later, and 20 years after the death of Pablo Escobar (and the Medellin Cartel), Medellin has been selected as the most Innovatie City in 2013. Click on the link for more information on the prize and more information on the “City of the Year”.
